Quiz and email signups: if you complete the "Should I Buy an EV?" quiz and enter your email, we store your answers, your email address, and your computed result, so we can send it to you and let you track it over time. Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form.
EV Buyer Check requests: if you request a check, we collect your name, email, and optional phone number; whether you're buying or selling; and the vehicle's make, model, year, and optional registration/VIN. We use this to arrange the battery health test and vehicle history check, and to produce and deliver your results. Legal basis: performance of the contract you enter into when you request a check.
Vehicle Alerts, My EV, Sell My EV, and Marketplace waitlists: these are early interest forms, not live services — if you submit one, we store your email and what you told us (the car you're looking for, driving, would connect, or whether you'd be buying or selling) so we can gauge demand and follow up if we build the feature. Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form.
Anonymous site analytics: we use a randomly generated, localStorage-based session identifier (no cookies) to understand which pages and traffic sources are useful. This doesn't identify you personally.
Cookies: we don't set any cookies by default. If you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit, we load Google Analytics, which sets cookies to distinguish repeat visits and measure which pages are useful. We don't send it your name, email, or any other personal details — only anonymous usage events. Declining, or not answering, keeps the site fully cookie-free; you can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this site. Legal basis: your consent, given by clicking Accept.
For an EV Buyer Check, we share the vehicle's registration/VIN with our battery-testing partner and vehicle-history-check provider(s), solely to obtain the results for your check. Payment, when applicable, is processed by our payment provider — we don't store your card details ourselves. We don't sell your data to anyone.
We keep quiz results, signups, and EV Buyer Check requests for as long as needed to provide the service and respond to related queries, and no longer than 24 months after your last contact with us, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or ask us not to use it in a particular way, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing us. You can complain to the Data Protection Commission if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
